In the Garden
The front of the Kresge Art Center and plaza is a mess. It just is not taken care of even though With some care I think it could be a great space and art resource. So go behind the building and there is another plaza that is used and often messy. It is an ever changing display of art that never fails to interest in its variety and shapes. It is worth a visit from time to time.
It is almost always worth a walk through the rose gardens in the Michigan State University Horticultural Gardens even when the bloom is off. Appropriately there are trellises laid out in front of the garden designed to be the scene of nuptials. It is, and often. In the garden itself there are more trellis draped with rose vines. These are well photographed roses. From time to time I find a rose of exceptional color, texture or design.
Cowles House is the official residence of the President of Michigan State University. According to Wikipedia although extensively rebuilt, parts of the house were a fragment of a set of faculty houses built on campus in the early years of the college. I just think it is elegant in how it is presented. Somehow it is wonderfully isolated even though it sits in the midst of the old part of campus near Grand River Avenue.
