A Walk in Messina
I actually do remember where I took most of the photographs I’ve captured. We decided not to take a tour when the ship stopped in Messina early on the last full day of the cruise. We wanted to just walk up into the city and see what we saw. Just exactly where this photograph was shot I have no recollection.
Via della Conciliazione
We walked up Via della Conciliazione a number of times in the short time we had in Rome. It was really a bazaar as there were many street vendors and of course tourists.
\We went from the airport to the hotel via a van. We had flown all night, but we wanted to see the city so we walked. For an additional charge we could opt to have dinner and a night bus tour of Rome. We did. The wine was in carafes and on top of jet lag...was perfect.
We were not in Rome that long. We were just there for an evening, a day, and part of a morning. We walked a lot. Everywhere I saw doors. They were inviting, entrancing, attractive, and most of all photographic. As we walked along there was this bar which was obviously closed but bracketed with important stone inscriptions that proclaimed its importance in Italian or Latin of some Saintly connection, I guess.
